Using Vinegar in the Home
We all know that vinegar is something that is used in cooking, but how many know it can be a cleaning product too? In fact, vinegar is one of the best cleaning products that can be found and it is completely natural, with no harmful chemicals in it.
The amount of things that can be done with vinegar is truly astounding. Vinegar itself is a byproduct that is created during the fermentation of ethanol
In your home, you can use vinegar in the following ways:
- Rather than use paint thinner, which contains many harmful chemicals, you can use vinegar. Paint thinner is dangerous to breathe in, hence why you have to use it in well-ventilated areas. Vinegar is a much safer alternative that works just as well.
- Mix some vinegar with some water and you have an all-purpose cleaner that can go into a spray bottle. This spray can be used to clean anything in the house that you would clean with typical chemical cleaners.
- If you have suffered a burn, you can use vinegar on a cotton ball to help speed up the healing, and to deal with the pain.
- Many people have dogs, and dogs will sometimes urinate on the carpet. When they do, you can neutralize the odor with vinegar. This is very important to do because dogs have a great sense of smell and if you do not neutralize the odor, they will pee there again, even if you think you cleaned it.
- If you suffer a stain on one of your clothes, just take some vinegar and pour it on the stain, then wash with some water.
- Vinegar can even be used as a fabric softener for your laundry. You also only need to use half as much vinegar as you do fabric softener.
- Removing soap scum and mold in the bathroom is actually very easy to do when you use vinegar.
- Oven cleaners are known to be harmful on skin. Instead of subjecting yourself to the harmful oven cleaner chemicals, you can use vinegar. Just soak the stains in the oven with a vinegar cloth and wipe away.
When you go green in the home with cleaning products, you will find that many of the cleaning products that do a better job than chemical cleaners are in fact things we already have in our homes. Vinegar is a perfect example of a great cleaner that few people ever seem to use.
