Understanding The Power of DandelionsDandelions are often thought of as weeds. Many homeowners mow them down without thinking about the merits that dandelions have. A big part of being green with your yard is realizing the power of the herbs or ‘weeds’ that grow on your lawn. Dandelions are one of the most beneficial herbs that you can find in the world.
Here are just a few of the benefits of dandelions:
So, how do you harvest dandelions? The best way is to use them in tea. To use them in tea, follow these directions:
If you don’t want to have tea, you can use dandelion leaves that are young in a salad. You can steam them, or even add them in stir-fry. Another option is to make decaf coffee out of the dandelion roots. Just grow some of the plants inside and when they are nine to 12 months old. Then, roast them inside in an oven until they are the color of coffee. After that, just grind them and use them like regular coffee grounds.
Dandelions are not weeds, they are medicinal products that have been used for thousands of years by medicine men across the planet. They grow everywhere but they are so good for us. Remember, if you are going to pick dandelions, make sure your neighbor has not sprayed them with a chemical spray. You do not want to be ingesting any of that into your body. | |||
